Module 6.3 - Knowing and Growing Your Sphere of Influence

How does a person determine a sphere in which they have influence? Does that happen naturally or do we need to make it happen? How have you seen people find a sphere of influence?

Journal about your last three conversations with friends or family. Was the content of these conversations hopeful or negative? Be honest of the tone. Is there room for improvement on your part in those conversations by intentionally working to be a thermostat and not a thermometer? Review if there are any core issues that make it difficult for you to speak hopefully about any of the topics in those conversations.
Spend time journaling about our conversation of living for something bigger than yourself. What has that meant to you? Let your mind dream about what changing that sphere would look like. Are there steps you can take to be intentional about creating impact in that sphere? This week, take steps to find like-minded people and make contact with someone who has influence in the area of your passion. Journal about that passion of your core and why influence in that sphere is important to you.

It's been interesting how things just seemed to fall into place when I put the work in through the cohort. I can't say that I've even really "tried" to do things differently. I just did them. We spoke last week about how I'm not much of an influencer and I was OK with that. For some reason, releasing that into the universe made me more confident about putting myself out there. I started making TikToks just for fun and have gained 1500 followers in a week! I wasn't even trying. I'm getting great feedback and I feel so comfortable and confident on camera. It's so weird because I am NOT that person at all. I also started blogging again yesterday. I hadn't put any content up since the end of last year. It was how I was processing during the pandemic but, as the depression took over, I lost the confidence to continue. My cousin's wife commented on one of my Facebook statuses and said I should blog so I decided to finish up a piece I was working on and post it. I'm going to do another one today and try to be consistent with posts from now on.

We start our foster classes next week and I'm really excited for it! Our kids are also excited. I'm looking forward to showing them a world that they didn't even know existed and setting them up to be stewards when their time comes. I just hope that being considered a TikTok bully doesn't hurt my chances lol

I think you find your passion and see how that passion can be implemented into the world to make the impact you want. Sometimes it happens naturally but often you really have to work for it. I know that when I release my music, I am not immediately going to be well known and respected as an artist. I have to build that credibility and also get the word out. It will be a struggle because so many people can make music now. I have seen people find their sphere of influence and flourish in it. It is encouraging because it gives me hope that I will find mine.

Living for something bigger than myself reminds me of the prince vs pauper mindset. Do I have enough love and compassion to extend beyond myself? Do I have enough to join with humanity to make this world better for everyone and continue to bring more love and beauty to the world? I'm not so sure what I believe about God, but am I willing to pursue the life we see in Jesus of bringing a new kind of Kingdom to the earth? One that is all inclusive and inviting us all to live in love and freedom? My answer is yes to all of those. I feel like I have really been doing what I need to recently. I am putting in the time. I am creating the content. I am working towards my goals. And I believe I will leave an impact through what I am creating.
